Had a fantastic week at the Twice as nice, Clotted Cream Chalet last week with my fiance and 15 month old daughter.
As a previous reviewer has said, I am almost reluctant to leave a review for this place as I don’t want the rest of the world to know about it!
Upon booking, Michelle, the owner was really helpful and super friendly and answered any questions I had really promptly.
On arrival we were pleased to see the chalet is every bit as lovely and characterful as it looks on the pictures!
On entering in to the open plan living area it was clear to see the chalet was immaculately clean and well cared for with lovely touches such as a pack of Cornish biscuits, fresh flowers and tea and coffee.
All rooms were lovely with everything you need for a relaxing break, there is a decked area outside with table and chairs for sitting outside in the evenings.
The bathroom was clean in good order with a great shower.
The sand dunes are right next to the chalet and we really enjoyed walking with our daughter in her back pack carrier the 15 or so minutes over the dunes to the lovely beach. (the landscape is stunning with great views over Sy Ives bay, the paths are quite rugged so a baby carrier of very strong arms are required if you plan to take a baby to the beach!)
The location of the Chalet is great and is a great location for exploring the local area. St Ives is a very short drive and Hayle has everything you need including a couple of supermarkets. (Hayle centre is a couple of minutes drive down a country lane).
We were lucky to have family also staying locally on hand for babysitting and were able to sample the local pub (The Red River, which is lovely with great food).
One small thing to remember if you visit, is to take a few pound coins as the meter is coin operated, (we only got through about £8 during the whole week) and are quite heavy users of electricity! being prepared just saves a trip to the shop to get change!
We are quite fussy travellers and are seldom enthusiastic about anywhere enough to leave a review, but we can’t praise this place enough and felt compelled to state how nice it really is.. hope to visit again soon, Thank you Michelle!
