Twice As Nice Chalets are actually located at the rear of Atlantic Coast Holiday Park so that’s the entrance you’re looking out for from the main road, a big sign saying ‘Atlantic Coast Holiday Park’.When you first turn into Atlantic Coast Holiday Park, you will see that the road splits off three ways as you drive past the white reception / shop. (NB that’s the reception for Atlantic Coast Holiday Park, so Twice As Nice Chalets holidaymakers don’t need to stop there. You can however visit the shop to make daily purchases should you wish to do so).To get to your chalet, you need to take the middle road as you go past the shop. When the road forks again, take the left turn and then keep going until you come to a permanent Chalet (like a little house) on the left-side corner in front of you.Drive straight past that onto the grass and you’re now alongside the chalets - see the picture below, based on the picture you either need to turn left for the four chalets at the front or go straight ahead to one of the first three chalets you can see.As you drive up to the chalets you’ll see the names and numbers (green box illustrates on picture above) next to the doors (if you go back to the first picture though, you’ll see we’ve added the numbers onto the roofs for you so you can plan exactly which chalet to pull up in front of!).Enter the code we give you into the box at the side of the door to find your key, and hey presto you’re home!!Enjoy your holiday!!

Why should you have to go on holiday without your faithful furry companion? Come and stay with us at the beautiful seaside resort of Gwithian Sands, Hayle, Cornwall and enjoy a family holiday that’s suitable for all the family - 4-legged members included.
Our beautiful chalets, nestled amongst the sand dunes along Hayle’s world famous 3 miles of golden sands, are perfectly positioned to cater to your family’s every need - and except in high summer, you can bring your dog or dogs for just a small (£30) charge per dog.
By high summer, we mean 6th of July to 30th of August only. Outside of these few weeks, your pooches are as welcome as you and the rest of your family are.
Relax on the decking in the gorgeous Cornwall sunshine, or be as active as you like and explore the miles and miles of walks across sand dunes, beaches, and even nearby woods.
Or why not pop into historic Hayle for a wander down the pretty High Street and an ice-cream or two - after a traditional Cornish pasty, of course. You are holidaying in Cornwall, after all, and some traditions simply must be expected!
Don’t be shy of taking your dogs out and about round town with you - a surprising number of shops are dog friendly, likely as a result of the high numbers of holiday makers bringing their whole family to these picture perfect chalets for a well-deserved break.
It’s exactly the same story in major towns nearby too - Redruth is a very dog friendly place to go shopping for the day; and if you want to go further afield we found the same to be true of the historic and beautiful town of Penzance.
Looking for a destination trip for the day? The Cornish Seal Sanctuary welcomes dogs on leads, as does the famous Healey’s Cider Farm. In fact, with a little research into the lovingly placed tourist information pack contained within each of our Chalets, you’ll find somewhere welcoming for you and your dogs every day of your stay.
If actually going places isn’t for you, well there’s good news about the dog friendly status of most of the nearby beaches! It’s worth checking - and your Chalet will contain a handy map allowing you to do just that! - because some of the beaches do operate a seasonal ban from April to October. However, this ban only covers the daytime - you can still take your dogs early morning or late evening - and who doesn’t love the thought of an early morning walk with their dogs on a beach in Cornwall?!
You’ll find plenty to do and the time will fly past while you soak up the sun on the beach or back at your Chalet - and your faithful furry companions will love it too….just watch out for those local rabbits!!
Consider this tucked-away treasure on the beautiful North Cornwall coast. Picturesque beaches, unspoilt countryside and views that stretch for miles. Now imagine holidaying in your very own wooden beach chalet here, and let’s plan how you could spend that perfect time away! All our chalets are fully equipped so you wont even need to bring kitchenware.
Gwithian Sands is situated on the outskirts of the village of Gwithian, Hayle. Extensive sand dunes border the beautiful Gwithian Beach in West Cornwall. Located at the eastern end of St Ives Bay, between Hayle and Godrevy Point, three miles of golden sand beach make this an ideal spot for the family holiday.
Gwithian Sands is located next to the expansive, rolling grassy dunes of Gwithian and Upton Towans (a large site of special scientific interest, with abundant flowers, unusual plants and bird life - ideal for nature lovers), providing hours of safe play for children and beautiful and relaxing walks for adults.
A short walk, over the beautiful sand dunes, reaches the unspoilt beach at Gwithian, which is never crowded, even during the summer. The beach is excellent for bathing, while younger children can enjoy safe paddling in numerous rock pools. The beach is ideal for surfing, wind & kite surfing and bodyboarding. There are many local places of interest and the surrounding area is great for rambling.
This a very peaceful location and many people simply enjoy relaxing during the day, taking in the sun and allowing children (and adults!) to play on the Dunes. In the evening you can relax and unwind on your Chalet’s open plan decking and even dine Al Fresco. A home from home.
Gwithian, when the tide is low, is connected to other beaches that lead all the way to Hayle estuary. This three mile expanse is formed by Godrevy, Gwithian, Upton Towans, Mexico Towans and Hayle beach, which sits at the mouth of Hayle estuary.
Looking for a place to go with your dogs? Both the south-west section of Gwithian, Upton Towans and Mexico Towans allow dogs all year round — and the next beach over from Hayle beach, Porthkidney, is also dog friendly — so there’s plenty of space to let the dogs run.
Seasonal lifeguards serve the beaches here, so it’s a great place for those wanting to get in the water. You’ll find plenty of people in the water at most times of year, and although many will be surfers, there are plenty of windsurfers, kite-surfers and paddle-boarders about too, providing scenes of real adrenaline for onlookers on dry land.
Gwithian village itself is set back from the beach, hidden from view by the rolling Towans. This small hamlet is extremely pretty, and the local pub, the Red River Inn is a great place to grab a bite to eat and sample some local ales. For amenities and entertainment besides what can be found on the beach, head a few miles west of Gwithian to Hayle. This local town has plenty of supermarkets, restaurants and shops, while on the outskirts you will find some great farm shops.
Just a few miles further across the bay is St Ives. This beautiful town is a hive of activity during the summer, with local boutiques, restaurants and art galleries offering plenty to do all in a picturesque setting. For those looking to escape the crowds, a visit to St Ives out of season is a must. Its rich history of artists is commemorated by numerous museums and galleries, including the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth museum. St Ives is a great place to explore for anyone visiting the area, and why not make a day of it by including a stroll or sunbathe on the towns’ two main beaches, Porthmeor and Porthminster.
With all the attractions, shopping opportunities, wildlife spotting and long sandy beaches it is no surprise that the Gwithian area is a popular spot for holidays.

Upton Towans beach is very close to Hayle and the Chalets, and dogs are allowed all year round. The beach reaches a low rocky headland and the lighthouse on an island just off the coast. Ideal for surfing and safe for bathing and backed by sand dunes and adjacent holiday camping sites.
Look just a little further afield and you will find plenty of choice for where you can take your beloved pet.Clodgy Point beach is located just around the point (Man’s Head) from Porthmeor beach. It’s a very rugged affair with a mix of boulders and rocks strewn across a sweeping bay, and you do need to be fit to walk here. Access is from the coastal path towards the Clodgy Point end and is not recommended for all but the most agile owner and pooch! This is a dog friendly beach with pooches free to roam throughout the year on or off the lead.
Why not head over to beautiful St Ives, to see this little hidden gem of a beach? Situated between the harbour of St Ives and Porthgwidden beach, Bamaluz beach often goes unnoticed by the majority of visitors. The beach itself is very sheltered from all but an onshore breeze, but the high walls can also block out some of the sun and this is not a popular spot purely because the sun-seekers will be staying away - so all the more room for you and your dog! At high tide the beach is also greatly reduced in size and can almost disappear on a spring high.
Still in St Ives, Lambeth Walk beach is very often overlooked, despite being almost in the town centre of St Ives. Part of the reason is it doesn't really exist at high tide, however at low tide things are different - the beach joins up with the harbour beach. On a really low tide you can walk around to neighbouring Porthminster beach. Located on the other side of the south pier, between the harbour and Porthminster beach, Lambeth Walk is the only dog friendly beach in St Ives without restriction. To the rear of the beach is the church of St Ia. At the northern end is the RNLI lifeboat station and beyond that the harbour front with all its shops and cafes.
Staying close to hope in the beautiful town of Hayle, Mexico Towans beach forms part of a glorious four miles of sand that starts from the mouth of the Hayle estuary and reaches out to the lighthouse at Godrevy Point. However, care is needed as not all are dog friendly all year round - that honour belongs to Mexico Towans only, and conscientious dog owners are advised to check the maps to be sure of not breaching regulations.
Porthkidney Sands beach stretches from the mouth of the River Hayle in Lelant to Hawk’s Point in Carbis Bay. The beach is around a mile long, and even the most energetic dogs will be satisfied by the amount of space available to run in! This is mostly due to the fact that at low tide, the sea goes out a long way leaving a vast expanse of usually almost deserted sand. The beach is overlooked by one of the areas top golf clubs in the form of the West Cornwall Golf Club.
Black Cliff beachis a long sandy beach stretching from Hayle Towans to Mexico Towans, sheltered by cliffs along the way. To find the beach, take the Hayle Towans road through Phillack from Copperhouse, Hayle. Drive to the end of the road, where there is a large car park. The beach can be approached on foot, walking along the beach and dunes.
So from our beautiful chalets on the edge of Hayle, you and your dogs can enjoy the most fantastic seaside holiday ever(Pricing), with enough to do to keep you occupied for a full week and more to see when you come back next time!
